Buy a humidifier sounds like you have dry air, also dilute fabric softner in a spray bottle and spritz the carpet, should do away with the static and freshen the air and the carpet. Try a mix of 1/4 softner to 3/4 water.

Point a stcik at it and say, "Stop static!' Sometimes this works, but more often then not the men in white clothes pick you up for your own good.
But seriously, I am in the carpet cleaning business and here's how you can do it.
Put an end to carpet static by combining 1/2 litre of fabric softener with 5 litres of water. Pour into a spray bottle and spritz your carpet until it is fairly moist. Don´t soak your carpet or you could damage the backing. Let it dry overnight, and the static should be eliminated for several weeks.
Hope this helps you!

You can spray "Static Guard" on it lightly. The main reason for static is lack of humidity in the air. You can use a humidifier to help if you live in a desert climate.

To quickly get the static out of anything, just spritz it with water. It works on clothing too if it's sticking to you.
