Well leaving kumble out is one of the biggest mistakes the selectors are making. The selectors are leaving him out becasue he cant bat as well as a batsman. The selectors dont seem to seeing the fact that he is a excellent bowler. The main goal of the selectors must be to select a team that is balanced.

Balanced means 5 batsmen with some as part timers. 1 allrounder who is consistent in both bowling and batting and a good wicket keeper if he can bat it is an added advantage. and then 4 good bowlers whether they know how to hold the bat is immaterial.

The selectors concept of balanced side seems to be 11 batsmen with some bowling skills. That is why kumble has been droped. That has helped india win few matches but not many tournaments. If india needs to win the world cup then they need a balanced side and KUMBLE is a obvious choice for a bowler in the side. Leaving him does not send good signs to indian cricketers who are playing domestic cricket. Everybody will concetrate on batting and finally we will have no bowlers left only part time bowlers. If india loses badly in the up coming tri series then kumble would be brought in immediately if not india will retain a simialr side and that means world cup is not for india

As far is i am concerned anil is one of the best bowlers india have but he is not so effective in one day cricket and if he plays in both one day and test cricket he will not be fit and he cannot be effective in both test and one day cricket so i think the selectors are doing the right thing

Because it is a far greater honour to play for Surrey, even for a short while, than to continually play for India where he has already proved himself many times. Surrey are the greatest club side in world cricket, and he asked to be left out of the Indian side in order to allow him to play for Surrey.
