Try Proactiv. It really works. I had really bad acne that I was afraid was starting to scar. Now my face is so much clearer. You just have to use it twice a day every day to get the full effect. If you don't, you can break out.
There are a variety of sets you can get. I got the deluxe one which came with renewing cleanser, revitalizing toner, repairing lotion, a face mask, moisturizer, and oil control. You can get one with just the cleanser, toner, and lotion for a lot cheaper price.

What is the fancy product you tried? Im into fancy crap, at least i like to sample it since i cant afford most. But its kind of hard to tell what is expensive and what isnt because you did not include aprice range. My personal favorite wash is by Dermalogica, the Medibac clearing wash. its really gentle but stil effective. And I also like to use Kate Somervilles Anti Bac Clearing Lotion. Its 5% benzoyl peroxide, but its a time release formula so it wont dry your skin out. And it also includes some formulation of ingredients that regulate the sebum production (oil production) so it should help with your oiliness too

they have this wash called chill factor, its the best ever, proactiv sucks. This makes your skin feel good and clears up acne fast and doesnt dry your skin out. you can get it at walmart or target for five bucks a bottle. nothing else works.

Well i use Clearasil product wipes that help prevent and treat acne. They work on my skin and they don't make my face dry. So maybe you can consider using it!
