the somebody must have really screwed something up for a director to say stuff like that but i hardly doubt directors say that, although possible but kinda cliched
I also agree with Boomer. Gossip and popularity with people decide whether or not certain people work.

This town refers to Hollywood.
Actors used to be blacklisted for being suspected communists or whatever. Directors don't have that much power anymore.

only if they can really back it up! most directors only say that b/c they're mad and call the actor back the next day! lol
