I own a Hyundai, and i would never recommend buying one, but they do make good on that warranty.

If they didn't, there would be lawsuits and media coverage. I bought a Hyundai Elantra new in 2002 and had no powertrain issues throughout the life of the warranty. It is a very dependable car, even now with nearly 130k miles on it. The interior trim pieces are a bit weak, though. Since the 10y/100k mi warranty is non-transferrable, it doesn't help resale value. The warranty is only good for the initial buyer (or at least that was the rule at the time).

If you buy a used one, you only get a partial warranty and you have to be really good about the maintenance on it - oil changes, tire rotations, etc. - or else the warranty is null and void
That's according to the finance manager where I work.

It should.. When my boyfriend got his 2006 Sonata, they gave him the rest of the warranty that was left over. You could always call the place you bought it from or another dealer.

It's probably too soon to know, but reviews for new Hyundais have been very, very good.
