David Sedaris is a great author (Me Talk Pretty One Day). He has written Barrel Fever and Naked that are also terrific. Another really good book is Dry and also Running With Scissors. I can't remember the author's name, but he writes similar to David Sedaris. Rebbecca is a classic book that is in a somewhat similar fashion to The Great Gatsby. My favorite book of all time is To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. Hope that helps.

The Undomestic Goddess (also Sophie Kinsella, as I see you like her)
Running With Scissors- Augusten Burroughs
The Glass Castle- Jeannette Walls
Rachel's Holiday- Marian Keyes
You can go to Amazon to look up synopses of these books- You seem to like a combination of funny chick lit and non-fiction memoirs- these four books are all very good reads.

I just finished a really great book called "Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister" by Gregory McGuire. It is an adult version (by adult, I mean not a kid's book. I do *not* mean that it's pornographic!) of the Cinderella fairytale, only it is told from the perspective of one of the step-sisters. She tells the story from how they met Cinderella's family, how her real mother died, and many other interesting facts. It was really an amazing story!
Another great story to read is "How to be Good" by Nick Hornby. It is a light read, but it is very funny and goes indepth into the life of a married couple. The husband has become enlightened, and makes it his life's purpose to go above and beyond doing good deeds. How he and his wife deal with this enlightenment is hilarious.

Based on your list, I recommend 'The Devil Wears Prada" and "The Nanny Diaries"
Both are really enjoyable, fun reads.
"The Lovely Bones" and "The Deep End of the Ocean" are also excellent stories about loss and hope.
"An Unquiet Mind" is a memoir about a Doctor's struggle with bi-polar disorder, also called manic/depression.
