Not sure about influence of Buddhism in India. Though that's where Buddhism started, few Indians today are officially Buddhist. I'm guessing that some Buddhist ideas were assimilated into modern Hinduism, though.

For Chinese, most of us profess to be Buddhist, but many people only observe the ceremonies and forget the principles.

I've heard that Buddhist principles have had a greater impact on Japanese psychology: They're more in touch with nature and regard the individual in terms of relationships with the community and with nature.

We Chinese are much more individualistic and selfish...

Regarding meandme's answer (below), well, I wouldn't say that Asia is a peaceful place! There have been far too many wars, conflicts, and genocides here over the past century.

eastern outlook is very different than western.
western more about putting things in categories.
i think eastern is more holistic.

they perfer peace. don't complate much. just let go. giving.be nice to everyone. believe in what goes around comes around. how? it's becaue it works.
