Check out Jay-Z's "I luv girlz" His lyrics go "I met this African Chick, she's like 'Why u treat me like animal' Um like excuse me Miss Fu Fu, when i met u,u waz runnin around naked...." Right on! I have some good friends from various countries in Africa; and without exception, they are bright, articulate and considerate.
I am causasian, but I can't help noticing that the Africans have less self-esteem issues. I guess you guys don't use the n-word a lot.

that is termed stereotypes and pretty a lot each man or woman has one. I stay in united states ( believe me i'm no longer bragging) and the British being polite is only yet another stereotype. a lifeless ringer for the asians are the smart ones, the blacks are the criminals, the middle Easterns are the terrorists, the gingers without soul, etc. those are some stereotypes that I surely have witnessed on television. by using the seems of it, it seems that like you only stereotyped individuals by using preserving that we are all ignorant and slender-minded. no longer all individuals help Wales or Scotland! To sum each little thing up the British stereotype individuals and individuals stereotype the British people.

Most Americans dont think about Africa.
And as far as ignorant, there is a reason we are THE SUPERPOWER......because we are stupid, harnessing the power of the atom.

not all Americans are like that, I'm from Arkansas. and I've been to Africa and i believe that is a beautiful continent full of different species of animals, plants, and insects, and full of very intelligent people. not all Americans are so prejudging. although i do have to agree that MOST of us Americans have not seen the beautiful side to Africa. but when it comes to going to another country or continent that is not our own homeland most Americans tend to see everything about that place in a glass half empty perspective. so it is not just Africa that is always is seen in a pessimistic point of view. you can blame some Americans but don't blame us all.

Not all Americans, just the ignorant ones. The education system is really to blame. They do not teach other cultures or actual history of other countries. Most Americans do not take time to learn about others because they will never travel outside the USA. Shame really.

In responses yes some American are ignorant people, some are well educated. It is an amazing thing, but if you open your eyes you will see that you will get a bunch of different ideas from any country.

There's something wrong about the way the Americans thinks. They think they are very clever and intelligent. To understand them you have to go back in the history about the immigrants who went to America to become rich. The big American dream. They thought there will find a lot of gold. It was not the most intelligent people who immigrated to America. They got disillusion, hardness and no gold.
