Ok Big Ed,first point about point's-read the bloody rules Before you start playing a game-so you know not to take a hockey stick to play football for example-The 'guidelines' explain it in detail all over the place but all the people that don't read them, the one's flooding Answers with inane 'chat' (ILLEGAL under the rules) - won't have a clue why they get kicked off the site when the backlog is caught up-This site can often provide life or death answers to people without prejudice all over the world it is not yet another site for morons to play;Yahoo are trying to catch up so stay within your guidelines and you'll be okay-the abuse is running out of control and endangering the whole site-either they learn some respect or we'll be closed down and then re-opened under regulation by the state.xThe point's show your status as a person that cares, and must set the example.ktf.x

I don't know. Maybe its Yahoo's way of rewarding us with things that don't amount to a hill of beans while they make money from us. But too, there are people on here 24/7 who relish in the attention they receive (or think they receive) by accumulating vast quantities of points. There is absolutely no way these people can be working or have much of a social life. Do it for fun and you will enjoy it more. I answer when I get writers block or feel lazy to write.

When you answer a question, you get 2 points. When you ask a question, minus 5. It is to encourage you to help others by answering questions. You get to higher levels. If the person chooses your answer as the best one, you get 10 points. It's just fun.

You just get points from answers questions and other stuff. There are different levels you you can get to by your points value. And the higher the level you are at, the more answers you can post and do other stuff. That's the only reward that I know of

The points allow you to get to higher levels. The higher level that you're on, the more Q & A's you can post...You can just click on your points or levels when you see them highlighted in blue to see the whole chart thing. And what's more addicting than a Q&A forum than having points included?

Well the points kind of just make it interesting....You need points to ask questions and you get points by answering questions or for doing something. It's really just for fun they don't really mean anything.
