Personally I don't think so, but only you, the parent, know how mature your child is and if they can handle scary things. I think whoever proposed taking the whole class to this movie is an idiot.

It depends. Children might have been scared back in the 80's and 90's, but nowadays, kids are hardly scared.
If the kids scare easily, it might be better to watch another movie. Even though it is animated, meaning nothing really bad can happen becuase the movie is aimed at kids.
Otherwise, I say take them. It's only a PG movie.

Hmmm depends on the child. It looks cute, but the house comes alive and might scare some kids. How has your son been seeing other movies? Sometimes seeing things on the big screen may be scarier.

Monster House is rated PG(parents strongly cautioned, some material may not be suitable for children) for scary images and sequences, thematic elements, some crude humor and language.

Make up your own mind as a parent, but for myself, I would say no. Here is the official movie website.

Thats a good question. From what i see in the commercials it seems like it would still be a little bit much for kids that young to view. And like i tell everybody, just because there are kids in the movie, doesnt mean its necessarily for kids to watch. Use your best judgement and good luck with that.

It is not a G rated film, it is PG, so I would say the entire class should not go...
each parent should decide for their own children

A review by "Ebert and Roeper (sp?)" indicated that it would be too dark and scary for those under 8 or 9 years old. Hope that helps...
