I love the kinda gritty, bluesy rock sound of the above track and am looking for similar artists to add to my 'record' collection.

Thank you, looks like I've got a lot of bands to investigate...
I_know_all, I don't think whether or not U2 suck has any bearing on the question!
I asked here rather than Pandora.com because I'd rather be told what to listen to by people than a computer program.
Yeh, I'd realised to check out BB King.
Now for bonus points (well, I can't actuallt dish out Yahoo Answers points, but I may just sellect you as the best answer...) if anyone can suggest any Christian bands that'll fit the bill.

Cheers all for your help so far...

i imagine the first section is about Christ ('betrayed with a kiss'...even possibly the 'barbed cord fence' as a metaphor for the crown of thorns, i'm no longer particular) and the 2d section is about MLK jr. This music is definitely about Martin Luther King Jr. and Christ. They both made the merely excellent sacrifice all "contained in the call of love." What extra will be executed formerly the international is at peace? Who else appearing for romance on my own will be extra down? yet another effective message from U2.... it is easily about Martin Luther King JR, i imagine. I checked the dates.. MLK became assasinated April 4, 1968 in Memphis. i wager you Christ type of works.. in case you're taking out the April 4, and the "images.. contained in the memphis sky"

do a bit of digging on hootie and the blowfish, eels and maybe slash's snakepit if you want a bit of geetarr driven bluesy stuff.

eels & hootie play a lot of different styles but its mostly all good.
hooties honeyscrew is a stunning piece of musick!
