i mean they are never really used.

in dead ball situation, the opposition players must not be anywhere near 10 yards from the ball..this includes the kick off..during the kick off, the oppositon players must stand outside the circle because the circle's radius is 10 yards..that's all..it's similar to the D outside the penalty box..the opposition player must not stand within the D area when a penalty kick is being taken..it's just to make sure that they're 10 yards away..

When they kick off, opponents must be outside the circle. The semicircles in front of the box mark the are where there can be no opponents when a penalty ids being taken.

in the league i watch this is wear the referee wait for the rosters and carnets ( ID's of the players) this is also the start point of the game or where the kickoff takes place

yea they are...for every kickoff, the opposing team has to stand outside of the circle until the ball is kicked
