Grab the tent, an old guitar, a beautiful girl, and some of your buddies and hit the road! If you want all those things, such as your toaster and portable dvd player, then you mind as well stay home though! So hit the road, experience nature, and have some fun!:)!

I have a question for you-- Where would you plug these items in if you're going camping? To me camping is going out pitching a tent and making do-- I will bring blanket(s), food, and water-- the water I will freeze so it will keep my food cold with a couple that are not froozen. Roughing it is the only way to go camping-- these people who go to cabins with running water and claim to be camping don't know what camping is-- I have been camping all my life and the only way have been camping is in a tent. Granted when I started out, I slept on the floor of the tent or out in the open air- now I sleep on a cot (the floor of the tent gets very wet from the dew), but I will still sometimes sleep in the open air.

I can't believe you're asking this question? The whole purpose of camping is to get away from the modernized world, get some fresh air, and relax under the stars. I always load a pack with my tent, sleeping bag, a couple of powerbars, water, and a headlamp and wander a few miles into the woods. I don't like car camping. Not real camping at all.

If you don't "rough it" you're not going camping! Toast is easy enough to make over a fire or in a frying pan. A DVD player? Try bringing a camera and making your own DVD of wicked pics when you get back. Give music a break and try listening to the sounds of nature instead.
Bring instant coffee and don't forget the bug spray!

Lol, that projection TV looks heavy -- need a hand?
Seriously, build a fire (or use a little propane stove), put your pan on it, sprinkle some salt on the pan and put your slices of bread on that. For coffee, boil water and use coffee "tea bags" (better than instant).
I'd leave expensive electronics at home, they could get damaged or even stolen. If you're going hiking, you might want to bring along a GPS, but it's pretty hard to get lost on developed trails.
And definitely bring the old guitar and see if you can get the coyotes worked up.
Have fun!

Don't forget the Generator. You need to plug all that in. The CD or DVD would be nice for the road trip, or in case it rains. But everyting else can be done with a campfire, so no need. Take the gatiar and enjoy the weekend.

nothing wrong with bringing along things to make your food experience better. But I wouldn't bring a dvd or cd player! Part of the appeal of being in the woods is the quiet, to "get away" from it all. If there are others camping around you, you may be ruining that for them.
