Blond jokes are funny as hell. Other then that the only ethnic jokes you can tell are white people jokes.

Actually it is no more OK to tell blond or fat jokes either. And guess what? People DO still tell ethnic jokes - all the time.

I didn't know we couldn't tell ethnic jokes. I tell them all the time. If people don't like them they can walk away, that's what I do when I hear something I don't like.
I think generally, the only people who get easily offended by racial or ethnic jokes are those who see some truth in them about themselves. For instance, I am white--as white as white can be. Occasionally I hear a joke about white people interbreeding or being rednecks or not being able to jump or dance or similar themes. These jokes don't bother me one bit because I have never interbred nor am I a redneck when younger I played basketball as well as any of my black teammates did and I have learned how to dance to the degree that my wife and I can go out and dance when we want. So these jokes don't cause me to burst out into tears and start stomping my feet and scream that I have been offended. When Mexicans get mad about "illegal immigrant" or "gardening profession" or "nine guys in a 1978 Monte Carlo" jokes, that reveals much more about THEM than it does about the person telling the joke. When an Asian gets angry at a "bad driver" or "photographing at Disneyland" or "dental floss as blindfolds" joke, it reveals a great deal about them. When blacks get angry at a "welfare" or "illigitimate babies" or "inability to speak coherently" jokes, it generally only angers those who see some truth in it about THEM. Why would a well-educated black person, who doesn't pronounce the word "ask" as "aks" get offended if a joke is told about someone else who does?
Rather than avoiding telling jokes about other people, I suggest we all toughen up, wipe away our tears, put down our baby bottles, and act like grown-ups. If we don't find the joke funny, don't laugh at it. But don't prevent those of us who have been taught to have thicker skin from enjoying a good "white guy dancing" joke if it is genuinely funny.

It's just society's warped sense of what's right and wrong. As much as blondes and fat people have been "victims" of jokes, ridicule and so forth...there not really an "official' catagory or group..at least as far as most people are concerned. It gets down to feelings.
When I was a kid growing up I was big and I was also half Irish and half Swedish. I remember, like it was yesterday, the horrible feelings I had when I overheard fat jokes or remarks..because I was living it I guess. I don't remember getting to spooled up when I heard the occasional Irish joke or pun. I was a kid who grew up very ethnicity oriented. We really got into the Irish aspect of our lineage (not so much the Swedish). So it's not like I wasn't "Irish aware", if you will.
As far as why society accepts it.....it probaly boils down to, like everything else, money. I doubt any "Blonde" groups or organizations have filed mutimillion dollar lawsuits for blonde jokes or insults. Unlike ethnicly based organizations who have, therefore bringing attention to it..making it seem wrong..and making it unacceptable to do it.

That's true, it's a weird thing. I'm Mexican, and like most Mexicans, I can't relate to Hispanics in the USA. In Mexico we make blond jokes, black people jokes, Mexican jokes, we make a lot of jokes about ourselves. For some reason, Hispanics get offended the same way as black people do with etnic jokes. It stupid to take jokes so seriously.

double standards. I am blond and am SO SICK Of hearing stupid, stereotypical blond jokes! I think it is funny people come up to me and say these mean, hurtful jokes about people with my haircolor, implying that I am that way, but they never go up to someone of another race or overweight or with a disability and do it. I tune them out most of the time because I have heard them all. They are lame and old now.

Why should any joke denigrate another to be funny. Many comedians who have talent take situations and take a bit of truth and make the entire situation hilarious.
What is funny about putting someone on the spot. Didn't we learn our lesson with the Nutty Professor?
Must have a lot of insecurities.

What's wrong with you? It's not o.k. to tell blond or fat jokes either. What world do you live in. Just because people do it doesn't make it right.

Well, let's see. If an ethnic fellow and another of a different ethnicity are riding in a police car, who's driving?
