a couple of points:

- you defeat any attackers? really? the only one that comes to mind is Japan in WWII - otherwise, Upper Canada burnt your white house to the ground in 1812, and you're still trying to find - let alone defeat the guys who attacked you on 9-11.

- American football is a joke. The only "sport" I know of where ahlf the time is spent in a huddle or standing around and fat guys can be heroes (which I suppose explains its popularity in "supersized" America).. by the way - which makes more sense calling the game where players can't touch the ball with their hands "football" or the game where the majority of the playerr will never touch the ball with theri hands "football".

- USA was the "one true power" for a couple of years there after the Soviet Union collapsed - today, the only ones who think that are sucker Americans who have ben duped into supporting your nation's war machine at the expense of your own citizenry.

Better look up your facts then. In fact, it is called football in most commonwealth countries, and it's called soccer. Where did world power come into this? Certainly not in soccer/football. The British, who established their game of football/soccer, had their first meeting between club owners in the 1863, but the game it's self goes back much further. The first official rules for the game were laid down in 1848.

American football didn't even start coming together until 1874, when a pair of colleges played what could be called the first game. The rules they used were based on Rugby.
