Why is it that everyone wants Israel to stop bombing but no one is telling Lebanon to stop? Why isn't Israel allowed to protect itself?

Israel isn't using there people as human shields as Lebanon is doing.
Anyhow, Lebanon started this and Israel is trying to end it. That is their right they were attacked first.

People want to hate America and Isreal, so they do and say what they can to destroy each of us, from within. The liberal media in America is the "voice" of truth. Freedom of the Press has gotten so out of hand that they now "make the news" instead of reporting it.
Funny how in the former Soviet Union, the newspaper was called Pravda (truth) but was filled with lies to support the government's position.
In America, the newspapers are filled with lies they create on their own,or half truths, and use it to persuade the voters not able to research the truth for themselves, to believe their version.
Liberals are destroying the American education system. Why? To allow less intelligent, easily manipulated people. The answer I get to that, the professors and teachers are liberal...yes they are, and fail the exit exams themselves, many never pass the Teacher Exam, especially in California.
The fact that Hezbollah is hiding in Lebanon, attacking Isreal from there, makes them teh reason innocent Lebanese are getting hurt and killed. Do not hate Isreal, hate Hezbollah for being somewhere they shouldn't be.

Lebanon itself is not the problem but the terrorists that dwell in Lebanon. The Lebanon armed forces are not the ones in this escalation. It is the Hezbollah terrorists, who are cowards that hide themselves amongst the Lebanese peoples. They do this so when bombs target their bases they can then state, oh look Israel is attacking innocents.The reason no one is counting the many Israelis is not as many bodies due to the bomb shelters.. We go by body count not moral count. We forget that many are maimed and killed. The news media enjoys sensationalizing the body counts. This is their specialty. How do you tell a rabid dog to stop biting? This is basically what the terrorists are. The hatred of Israel can be seen by all of the Arab countries. They would all wish for it's destruction, i.e. Iran, Syria. There will never be peace in this region. Anyone wishing otherwise is only dreaming.

I don't know what news service you're getting, but there is nobody stopping the Israeli's. You talk as though the Israeli's are being restrained from action. What????
Not only are they "allowed", but they are bloody well doing it, going ahead and killing indiscriminately.
It makes me laugh - even when the Israeli's are engaging in open warfare for the whole world to see, there will always be people saying "oh the poor Israeli's, so helpless, this terrible world is stopping them from protecting themselves, oh this awful world, oh those poor poor Israeli's!".
They have sure hoodwinked you!

Father bob, please read the question and engage brain before ranting! I think there are a number of factors. Firstly Europeans, more than Yanks, like to take the side of the underdog and Palestinians can appear to be such. Secondly, people hate US for the arrogance and imperialism, not to mention their other odious characteristics, since US supports Israel people react against this despite the fact that it is hard to see what other choice is open to Israel.
Those who claim that Israel is engaging in indiscriminate killing are rather naive and have misunderstood the situation.
Israel more than its opponents has tried to make peace.
Israels opponents interpret such peace moves as weakness and increase their aggression.
Israel's attacks have not been indiscriminate but are designed to create a buffer zone beyond which Hezbollah (sorry if incorrectly spelled) cannot reach Israel with its rockets.
So, if the Israelis make peace the aggressors step up there attacks, and if Israel does nothing it would be the Israeli dead that we would be horrified by.

This is a very good point. A better question is, why are we trusting an uncoperative government to tell us how many civilians have been killed?
Israel actually give warning before its fire fights.
The lebanese people dont want to leave (although they supported hezbollahs engagement of open war) because their businesses and every day life happens at home.
Israel on the other hand, provides its people with bomb shelters, not just school buildings like labanon does. The israeli people use them, which is good, because hezbollah gives no notice of when or where it plans to send missles.

Israelis have been getting murdered by the terrorists for years now, and the world has not cared. In fact, despite the continued violence against Israelis, the UN continues to blame them for everything.
Waiting for the world to care would be futile. The Muslims have complete antipathy towards Israel, even the moderate ones. Europe, well, we've seen how they feel about Jews, and it isn' pretty. And the leftists of the world seem to have some deep resentment of Israel.
So, Israel might as well do what it needs to do - it will never get the world's approval.

You are right, Hezbollah should not be firing rockets at Israeli civilian centers.
It is not Lebanon who is firing rockets on Israel, it is Hezbollah. Hezbollah hides its offices in crowded residential areas. Aside from the TV station that Israel attacked, the Hezbollah offices that they have hit were makeshift and easily transportable (meaning that they could have already been dismantled and moved elsewhere before an Israeli attack).
Bottom line is that Israel is therefore really only bombing civilians, not the terrorists they are after. Both sides are guilty of targeting innocent civilians.

I think that the vast majority of Americans that use their brains do support Israels right to defend herself. The liberal media try to make people think that everyone is against Israel. What is scary is the non-thinking people that actually believe that Israel is in the wrong in this conflict.
