The quality of matches, storylines and talent are not the same they were at their peak, plus Paul Heyman's not booking the shows. They're trying to resurrect the ECW name without a lot of the guys who made ECW what it is and replacing them with guys who aren't believable as ECW superstars. And since when does ECW have disqualiications or countouts? I've already seen both since the WWECW started coming back.
Vince doesn't care either way about the product because he has nothing to lose. if ECW does well, it's another check for him to cash. If they don't, it makes WWE look like the superior brand. Lance Storm said it right: the fans should be chanting "WWECW" (pronounced WE-C-W) at the events.

Because it is just that, WWECW. Too many WWE established players, not enough ECW content. The Big Slow has the title belt? Please, send him back to RAW.
I think one of the major problems they have is that they expected more of the ECW alumni currently in TNA to jump ship. Another is that they put Big Show and Angle on the roster, while leaving Rey Mysterio, Super Crazy, and Psycosis, all ECW alumni, on Smackdown. And Test? Please...
Then there are guys like Matt Hardy, Rick Flair, Chris Bennoit who would be a better fit in ECW than BS and Angle are. Hey, I think even Fit Finley would be better in ECW than he is in on Smackdown... and he wouldn't need the midget under the ring.
The fact that they are taping Smackdown, then airing ECW live from the same event means that the crowds are not ECW crowds, but at best 50-50. One of the things that made the old ECW was the audience.
That all said, I can not say I hate the new ECW. It has the potential to get back what it had. Unfortunatly, as long as VMac has his grubby little hands on the controls, it's just going to come off like another Raw/Smackdown clone show.

Lets see here, well, I was a fan of ECW since 1999. I know, but I live in NC and had no way of watching it untill it debuted on TNN. But I loved ECW so much. The way it was hardcore, and in your face, but also had real wrestling as well. The new ECW is complicated. I mean, good things keep happening and bad things keep happening. I don't like things like Kelly, and Mike Knox, and vampires and fortune tellers. But it gets balanced out by the good, seeing sabu every week, seeing some good matches(like Big Show vs Ric Flair), having rob van dam win the WWE belt from that joke Cena. Just alot of different things. I know some hardcore ECW fans also hate it because there are new people. Well, I kinda agree. But, if you used all old ECW wrestlers, you would have that great of a roster and alot of ECW wrestlers are in the same shape they were back in the day. But my opinion is, there are parts of it that suck but there are parts of it that are good.

My first reason is because Raven is not there. It will never work because Vince is running things. If they would let Paul Heyman control things it would be much better. What is up with EXTREME RULES MATCHES??? In the original ECW every match was no dq no countout. When I first heard about ECW coming back I was excited, now I'm pretty sure Vince and the WWE are going to ruin a great thing.

Because you pay a fortune for ECW tickets and they only sell hats, bracelets, and like 6 T-shirts, in only adult sizes, and then you only have six or seven matches. A WWE live event is awesome, ECW really needs to work on the live shows.

It's not ECW if you have to tell people its an Extreme rules match. It's just a Raw Show with 1 hardcore match. It's not the same.

I've never been an ECW fan, but I'm tired of the soft core porn. I don't know if they think it will attract more people? Personally, I flip it to something else until what I want comes on.

I don't "hate" it. I am trying to give it time to become what it has always been meant to be. It has to be commercialized to become a product that can sale. Without profits it will fail, again! Be patient, it will become the promotion we remember and loved, when ECW can stand on its own.
