well im good. I woke up at 5:00 this morning with my muscle in my leg tightened up...but other than that Im doing good.

I wish I can say I was doing well this morning. Today is my birthday and I can't be happy because my mother is in the hospital dying from cancer. It is her third bout with colon cancer and it has spread to her liver. I don't know what to tell my children about her as they love her dearly. They are asking questions about her and all I can say is that she is very sick. I'm going to see her in a little while before I go to work. My father will be there and he is beside himself with grief. I never saw my father cry before in my life; but when he found out about my mother's condition last week, he cried his eyes out and kept repeating "My poor wife...my girl..."
To me, my birthday means nothing to me today, except to remind me of how I got here and who raised me. I am going to take care of my mom and try to make her comfortable, as that's all that we can do for her now.
