why do people consider Bush a good president when he shoots so many things down, like stem cell research, alternate fuel sources for cars, perscription drugs from canada, staying in Iraq, believing that god has chosen him to end the world?

Stupid is as stupid does - Forrest Gump

People are becoming more stupid because they watch TV and read bloggers' web sites. They never do any critical thinking or independent research. They end up believing lies about Bush being against stem cell research (he is the first president in history to fund it). They believe lies about Bush not supporting alternate fuel sources (he massively increased federal funding). They think cheating drug companies out of money (you know, the companies that spend billions doing research, and actually invent the medicines) is a good idea. They believe lies about Iraq being about oil.

This is the "informatioin age", but ignorance is just as bad today as it ever has been. Learn the truth, don't just spout lies you hear on TV.

Some people are stupid because they choose to be. They prefer to be spoon fed by Rush and Fox TV. republicans never do their own work, they always ask others to do it for them.
Just like the Iraq war. Bush and Cheney are both draft dodgers and they know nothing about war. They love sending others to do the dirty work for them. Bush and his republican cronies also love it that you will pay for their mistakes. Iraq will cost tax payers $2 trillion.
Bush has not funded any alternative fuels, that's a lie. He has given tax breaks if you invest. Also Drugs made in Canada are safe and made by the same companies that make ours, they are just cheaper there because Canada cares about it's people first and put price controls in place. Republicans in Congress don't care at all how much you pay for drugs as long as the contributions from drug makers still come in at the RNC.

1. Cuts taxes (never mind the multi-TRILLION dollar deficit)

2. Supports an ammendment against flag burning.

3. Supports an ammendment against gay marriage.

Those are the only three reasons people vote for him. They are not stupid, they are just selfish. They think they want more money in their pocket, and the religious bug-a-boos are happy about the second two. By the way, cutting taxes doesn't put more money in your pocket, it pads the wealth of the multi-millionaires. The rest of us have to pay for additional child care, care for the elderly, school programs that have been cut, etc.

EDIT: and just look at all these pro-BUSH people above me answering! Have they ever read an independent report on the performance of their government? No, they watch fox news, or don't watch the news at all, and spout the same filth their parents spout. Nazi-Neo-Americans don't think for themselves, ergo making America stupid.

ps: it's not the schools, it's the kids that parents are sending to schools. And if the schools had enough money to reduce class sizes to 15, instead of 40, don't you think that would help? Who controls that decision? The government. Stop making excuses you stupid Neo-Cons, UNLESS you can back it up with a well-researched statement. And I mentioned "Nazi-Neocons" because in an ideal world, Bush would blanket us all from what is going on. He doesn't mind outing one of our spies (remember Valerie Plame? And oh, yeah, he did do that, and got away with it), but beware the journalists that share "secret" information with the general public such as torturing enemy combatants or secret intelligence gathering operations (on you and me).

EDIT AGAIN (only because I love this question!)

I liked that answer from imaginer. So true!!

EDIT YET AGAIN:

HUH wmcritter? STEM CELL RESEARCH??? HUH? HE JUST VETOED THE BILL!! YET MORE PROOF THAT NEOCONS HAVE THEIR HEADS IN THE SAND! WAKE UP AMERICA, CAN'T YOU SEE THE STORM COMING!

I think you need to check the source of your info. The stem cell thing is the first thing he's vetoed in the 6 years he's been in office. As for alternate fuels, he's given tax incentives to US automakers to develop more hybrid cars as well as alternate fuel vehicles. The Canadian drug thing is to protect the integrity of what has and hasn't been approved by the FDA. Iraq is not secure enough to be self sufficient at protecting itself.
Your last comment is just too ridiculous to garner a response.

Because..............

Education funding is being cut, so we stay stupid and beleive reteoric instead of making up our own minds with facts.

Lies are being told at an alarming rate, because we beleive them.

W talks out of both sides of his mouth, but the Bush butt buddies can see nothing but their great christian leader doing what's best for the world.

This country is becomming very fascist and we have a bigger military complex than all other nations combined. Totally unneeded except for the wealthy defense contractors that contribute to the fascist (I mean Republican) party.

It's mostly lies that are told over and over again until the weak minded beleive it.

The basic reasons for our stupidity are our ego, and lack of knowledge. We think whatever we hear on cnn is the only thing going on in the world, but we don`t dare to know the truth and look at the other side of the picture for once..We are being brain washed by our govt. and media with all the scare tactics...

PLEASE BE OPEN MINDED>>>>>>>>

Bush got his votes mostly from rural areas where inbreeding is considered normal. Aside from that I believe the question is "Why are people supporting a nincompoop?"

Well, peaple are becoming more stupid because of the "dumbing down of America" that our public school system is doing. They don't require as much work for the students that they used to. Sat scores had be be lowered because of how "dumb" kids were getting. As for President Bush, leave him alone please.
