I mean there are bears in Canada and there are bears in Tennessee what keeps them from being in between? This is probably a dumb question but I want to know why.

The Bears are in Chicago!

Seriously though, the environment needs to be something that supports the bears. There are more people per square mile in Indiana than most of Canada. Part of the reason is too many people.

There were probably bears in Indiana but they have likely been hunted out of existance. Also the scarcity of large tracts of natural wilderness make it a poor habitat for a bear.

Bears are smarter than people give them credit for. Given the choice I would not live in Indiana either..

There almost certainly were bears in Indiana at
one time. There were bears in Pennsylvania and
Ohio, no doubt Kentucky also. They have been
eliminated by hunting and environmental change
caused by humans.

it matters on the kind pof bear some beaars like tghe cold ness like in canada polar bears or other bears may like warm or tropical weather but india not even bears who live in summer climates could poissibly live there for india is always hot and bears need time to hibernate(or sleep for a long period) and they would probly die of exaust while sleeping and not enough food how it is over in india much for a bear who eats like no tomorrow.

Great question!

My dumb answer is that bears just couldn't be bothered to travel that far, they are very lazy indeed: seriously they sleep for all the winter, they ain't going any where
