No way you could see the flag on the Moon through an Earth-bound telescope.
And don't believe everything you hear. The world is full of mis-information.
The Moon landing happened... there were 6 missions where they landed, not just one. They have video from each. There was no doctoring, there was no fake, and anyone who says different really hasn't studied the history and the science of spaceflight.
The FOX "documentary" most of you think was well founded, was created for one reason: to get ratings. Of course they will sensationalize and make it seem real, but there is no possible way for that landing to have been faked.
I challenge anyone to email me with their "proof" that the landing never happened, and I will debunk any myth about it.

Look, go back to school little girl. The moon is about 1/4 the size of earth. If Earth was a basketball, the moon would most likely be a tennis ball. The flag pole must be...like 5 feet. the moon is over 2000 MILES!!! The smallest maria, to give you an example of the flag size and how hard it is to see iot, is about 160 miles. Larger than Los Angeles if im correct.

Do you have any idea how powerful of a telescope you would need to see a flag on the moon from the earth? There isn't one. Yes, we did land on the moon. There is nothing to think about.

Even the most powerful telescope on earth isn't strong enough to pick up something as small as a flag at the distance of the moon.

Take a look at this website. This has photos from the Appollo Moon Landing recreated in a controled envorinment with toys. It is great evidence that a moon landing did actually happen. The flag that we placed on the moon would be immpossible to see with a telescope from earth. There is other evidence that we landed on the moon. We placed lasers on the moon to assist in measurring the distance to the moon. "Lunar laser ranging works by firing pulses of laser light at reflectors on the moon's surface and catching the returning photos."

There were some rumors that the landing on the moon by US astronauts was only staged..that the pics taken during the landing was actually in a place on earth that looked like the surface of the moon (somewhere in the US). that it was all camera trick, like in a movie. I saw this on a documentary film on my cable tv last year. It was very convincing, because they copied all that (supposedly) happened in the moon-landing using movie technology available at that time plus scientific theories on the impossibility of the mission ..It will get you into thinking if they really walked on the moon.

My friend, I have had a good laugh. Thanks.
There is no way a flag could be seen on the moon from the earth. Even with the most powerful telescope available you could not see a flag. Rest assured, it is there.
Thanks again for the laugh, you made my day.

What kind of telescope were you using? If it was the school's, probably a cheap one. The flag is small enough that it isn't all that visible from Earth. You might miss it even using a good telescope.

The flag is too small to be seen from ANY telescope on earth. I did read somewhere that the Indian lunar mapping satellite did spot the landing site (Lunar module) but even then the flag was too small to be seen.

Been wondering the same thing for years. There was a movie called Capricorn1, I think from the 70's. It's about the trip to the moon being a big scam.Hmmm, who knows?
