That at the time you were told was a good thing, but then as you got older you realized it wasn't so good. Meaning-I sold candy in third grade to "send a mouse to college" not realizing that the mouse was going to be experimented on. I hate mice, but I don't want to send them to their deaths. Has anyone else been lied to as a child?

believed in Santa until I was 12 years old I use to take my money that I saved and give it to charities because I thought the other kids did not have any food on Christmas mornings then I found out that there was not santa and I was so mad that I gave my money up I was a kid and I guess I did the right thing but just tell me the truth and I would of still did it. I hate being lied to that all great question though!

How awful!
I cant remember being lied to but I know have met people in the past that would tell their kids weird things. This one lady would dress her kids up in Halloween clothes in mid-July and send them out trick-or-treating. She told everyone in class and she thought it was SO funny how she play jokes on her kids...I still think that is really sick.

Me and my cousin were "hired" by a neighbor when we were kids to use buckets to haul a bunch of gravel from a house that just had it's driveway paved to another house. It wasn't a short walk either. We each got paid 50 cents for it. What a crock of s**t. lol

Yeah, SANTA CLAUS, the EASTER BUNNY, the TOOTH FAIRY. The same reason I insist on not telling my children such things.
