They are babysitters for the teachers right now. That is kind of scary. I don't think they will replace teachers completely because there are so many different ways to teach. Not everyone learns the same. But I think that the teachers abuse the ease of a computer when it comes to doing certain things.

Well eventually yes when technology is so advanced that people put intelligence implants in their brains. But when talking about the near future, computers will probably replace books, notebooks, and writing utensils. Even experiments could be virtually carried out if you didnt want to do it for real and you had good software.
But again, maybe some giant asteroid is going to hit earth in a few days and we wont be able to make any technical advances except for rediscovering fire.

Not in k-12 schools at least....
In elementary school.... Computers can't make kids sit still... they can't pick Billy off the ground when Jenny slugs him... they can't help a kid tie his shoelaces...
In middle schools.... Computers can't break up fights... they can't keep kids from throwing food across the cafeteria.....
In high schools.... Computers cannot keep kids from falling asleep.... they cannot coach a basketball game....
Nope.... computers will never replace teachers... there are too many problem-solving tasks, interactive tasks, and physical tasks that need to be done... and, most importantly, it is hard enough for teachers to gain kids respect and attention... I cannot see a computer accomplishing that.
