How dumb are Americans? As bad as it is in Lebanon, Israel,Egypt or the religious background countries thats full of hate! Just because the beaches are nice? Casinos for fun and dancing in clubs? Cheap clothes or jewelry? For sure it can't be because of the familes of diplomats or government officials. How better are the colleges there, compared to colleges at home? Then the Americans, I saw on tv, who whine and cry about the evacuations "being late" and "slow responses". (Don't compare this to Katrina, please!) It's so many people who hate George Bush for EVERYTHING that goes badly in the world.Give it a rest, people. Israel has been showing restraint since that 2000 U.N. Piece o' Paper aggreement for them to pull out of areas "for peace". Then the terrorists STILL keep wanting more! And are constantly tossing missles over the borders of these countries and hiding among children and women and other civilian areas like cockroaches!

Oil, Trade Vacation, Family, are some of the reasons. AUB in Beriut is a really good college. I agree they should not be whining I lived there for 5 years and knew the risk. Isreal should be able to defend itself yes but hit in the south of Lebanon not the north. The katrina comparision was totally wrong I agree

I agree. The vacationers knew full well the politics of the area before they got there. They should have been prepared before they left. No comparison at all to Katrina. That was a natural disaster within their own borders, not a battleground waiting to happen.

Stick your head in the sand , pretend it's not there and it will go away.
The STATE DEPARTMENT has been warning people for months to stay out of the middle east and they go anyway.

Money. Unfortunately, the MONEY to be made during this war, is too tempting for a lot of people to resist. This, DESPITE the fact that there is a VERY high chance of losing their lives. Not for me. I'll stay poor and live a long life, thanks.
