Describe and explan how gold is extracted through amalgamation and cyanidation?

We are curently learning about mixtures but the teacher hasent explain yet so we need to research, So I hope someone can help me.

you are talking about a potentially lethal process. Dozens of people have been killed doing it. read all about it but PLEASE do not try it. Ask your teacher about the potato method!!

gold is not usually found as pure gold. it's a mixture of things so in order to get pure gold you have to extract it and clean it up. both just preciptate out gold salts which are easily picked up and dealt with
