I have now found many forums with advice on how to remove the infection and using what software and even where to get it, but my problem is how to start the computer again in order to attempt to follow the advice! Please help.

If possible, use the startup disk or insert the CD disk and
choose Start From CD option to get the operating system
to boot.

I agree with ^^^^ you more than likely will need to reformat your pc just do it and get it over with dont waste anymore time trying to get it to boot that time can be used for waiting til your fresh windows install to complete and redownloading and updating everything.

u must reinstal your windows and format it.
