i have a friend at work who watches porn. he downloaded movies and watches them and also checks lots of sites. he says he downloaded some software to erase his tracks, but won't the server show a huge amount of downloading on his IP address?

I hope our IT guys don't track that for his sake.

He also has a private bathroom in his office. He has said he's gotten so excited he goes in there to masturbate 3-4 times a day.

i know he's not getting much work done but he is also a friend.

Should I rat him out?

This kind of problem disrupts productivity all across your work. If you know this, I am sure that other people know it as well.
Yes, there are software that covers tracks, but IT can still track all movements across the internet. They may not be able to get the exact IP address off the bat, but would narrow it down soon enough. It can cause bigger problems for him later.
It also sounds like your friend has an addiction to it, and needs help. Talk to him first, but also tell him that it will have to go to the boss if it does not stop. Help him seek professional help (there may be something availble through your workplace) before it destroys his life even more - what good is being a friend to them when their life is totaly gone?

That would be so imbarrasing. Think if that was you in his shoes. I know its not right to do that at work but think of it as this he will get caught soon enough and if you are looking to take his job do it then. If you are truly friends let him know that someone has an idea of what he is doing and he better stop before he gets into major trouble. Say would you rather have your job so you can go home and do that or be on the street with nowhere to do it. Dont loose your job over something this embarrassing and how would you explain when you are job hunting to a boss yeah I got fired for masterbating at work. You think they are going to hire you. Do it at home and come to work to work.

While at work I don't think what your friend is doing should be any of your concern. Your concern should be on getting your work done and making sure that you stay in the clear. Because believe men if and when he gets caught, you could be linked. So I would stay away from the issue as much as possible.

You have bills to pay and maybe a family to feed, your concern should be on yourself, doing your work, and making the organizations better, so that when it is time for your promotion, you will not be passed over.

No b/c you'll look like a tattle tale (and then ppl around the office won't trust you). Not to mention that if he finds out he'll be pissed as hell.

If you want, you could slip an anonymous note to one of the IT guys or your boss. Just whatever you do, don't let anyone know that you're the guy who turned him in.

Good Luck. That sucks. I've been through similar stuff and it's no fun, but like I said, you don't want to be the fall guy.

Personally he sounds like a low life. You should find a better class of friends. As they say, your friends are a reflection of you, Bub.

Don't rat him out, rather go to him and warn him that the IT support can see the amount of downloads a day and they have been asking you about it and if he don't change his ways you certainly will tell the truth next time they ask you about it!!!!!!

Good Luck!!!

I don't know about squeeling on the dude but there is definitly a problem here. He sounds like he is a porn addict. Tell him your boss asked you to talk to him, and that he will be fired if he continues. This is offensive and jerkingoff at work is just gross.. This is somthing you do at home in private..

suggest to your company or boss to get a Internet blocker, because you are "concerned that people are inappropriately using the Internet" don't say who or what they are looking at, just that it would be a good investment for the company that people would be doing their work not playing on the Internet

if they would install a blocker it would put a stop to his problem and may actually help everyone at your work improve productivity with out that other distraction

Snitches are the lowest form of vermin there is. Just thinking about it tells me you're much lower on the rung then you might think. You NEVER rat out a friend! Sounds to me like your jealous.

Do you realize that every time you click a link to an adult web site;

1. You are helping to promote human trafficking.

2. You give pornographers another reason to kidnap and rape another innocent human being.

3. You are putting an innocent life in danger.

4. You are condemning some woman to eternal damnation.

5. You contribute to slavery, drug abuse, and the promotion of every evil and vile thing.

When you click that link, you are just as guilty of these evil crimes as the men that kidnap and rape innocent children.

I hope you don't use his keyboard or his phone - yuck I hope he's washing his hands!! A grown man should know better than to sacrifice his livelihood for cheap thrills! Sounds like he needs professional help. There are such things as sex addicts.
