The second year was best.
In the first year I wasn't with the right kind of people (there was nothing wrong with the ones I was around, they just weren't my type and I wasn't there's. Which is fair enough). By the second year I had a good circle of friends, was settled in, knew the college and its procedures, was getting good marks, getting drunk, having sex etc.
So second year was best for me.

Alot of distractions from those smarter than me who wanted to party and have a frivolous time, maybe because they could handle it all better, but I needed a more disciplined study environment.

I hated my time at Wheaton College (IL).
What it lacked was a decent faculty (except for a few).
What it had instead was lying, abusive, criminal administrators.
I would encourage everyone to avoid that place.
