I think that it is a great idea. Make sure the mints are presented in a pretty bowl. When I was selling my house, I always had a fresh floral arrangement on display, too. If you still have your furniture there. setup the dining room table with china, glasses, silverware, etc,. as if you are having guests for dinner. You want prospective buyers to feel welcome.

Interesting idea. I'm not sure it would be a good idea though, since walking into a strangers house like that there is automatically a feeling of being careful what you touch and not take anything. Plus, if you're trying to encourage them to see the house as their own, putting mints in there they may not like could actually have a negative psychological effect. (Of course, by that logic, you could put a donation jar in it, and they might feel if it were their house, they'd be making money. :-)
Plus, with people trying to see the house as their own, I think the less impact or indication of the former owner in the house, the better.
It's a nice thought though. But I don't think I'd do it.

Thats a unusual and wonderful question. ok you do comprehend you will pay greater in the direction of you fee real? we could say your fee is one thousand a month and you pay 1100 a month. that each and every physique is going to important and all of a pretty you domicile will pay off in 10 years not 17 years. My figures may well be off I dont comprehend your activity and private loan stability yet any own loan officer that has a working laptop or laptop can inform you or you may google it. As to the lease Vs very own determination. undergo in innovations once you lease not something is tax deductable. once you very own all your activity and taxes are deductable. So in case you're in a 30% tax bracket that new condo you're observing that value 1300 a month in comparison on your place that value 1500 a month. that's greater interior of your budget? The 1500 a month domicile. lacking that tax decution will value you 3 hundred-450 a month in tax breaks. So your internet might value you 250 greater a month as a results of fact which you dont have that tax destroy. in case you go with to scale back, now's a good time. residences are affordable and expenditures are low. So purchase something it fairly is fairly helpful to retire in. possible get a 30 3 hundred and sixty 5 days loan and pay it on in 7. in simple terms pay what you like. good success

I'm also selling my house. I dont think people will make an offer because you have a bowl of mints out for them, but what may help is having vases of fresh flowers in a room or 2.. also get rid of any unpleasant odors in your home, make sure the house is neat and clean, and remove some of the clutter. Good luck sweetie.. Its tough for home sellers right now.

I am sure it won't do any harm to have a bowl of mints out. I don't think it will do much help either, but you never know, someone may associate the kindness of the mints being left out with the house, giving you extra "points".

Best thing to do is bake a batch of cookies,or fresh bread before you know they are going to show your house .it creates a homey feeling and buyers are influenced by the smell. The mints aren't a bad idea but they don't send pleasant scent memories thru out the house of mom, like the cookies or bread. You don't have to offer the cookies or bread just the smell is enough.

Don't go with the mints. The potential for mess as mentioned above is an issue as well as liability. Who knows if someone might choke on one and sue you. Burn an apple pie scented candle for 20 minutes before the showing, and play some low level contemporary music. This all should help.

Don't...not necessary, and although a nice gesture, the nervous potential buyers want to see a clean, well-maintained home and will care not about whether mints are offered. It's kind of a weird feeling thing, actually!

I saw a site online once, cant remember the name, it talked about how to do your house right to sell it, like have the garden right, put flowers on a table, stuff like that. Cant remeber if it said anything about leaving mints out though.

You want your home to have a 'Homey' sort of feel.. not a business feel... leaving a bowl of mints, while sounding nice, would make it feel as though they were walking into a restaurant, or an office...
Bake cookies or bread... fill the house with a nice warm-feeling smell... you want them to feel that this place is THEIR home.... and feel comfortable.
Good luck!
