Rapid weight loss damages your body...
Eat several (5-6) small meals a day...your body will burn calories faster and build your metabolism in a short period of time.
(eat about every 2 hours)
The first 8-10 pounds you shed is water.
Meal suggestions:
1st: piece of fruit
2nd: string cheese, summer sausage, cottage cheese/yogurt
3rd: bowl of cereal
4th: soup/sandwich
5th: a good dinner-meat, potatoes/pasta/rice, veggie...your body needs carbs, protein and vitamins to stay healthy
6th: salad/raw veggies
Drink plenty of water
Drink milk or juice/water with every meal (no soda pop)
Stay away from munchies, fried & fatty foods.
Cardio exercise is great, but most people don't continue for an extended period, do "daily" simple exercise like walking/hiking...swimming and biking are low impact, playing games like basketball, baseball, volleyball will tone your body and you'll have fun doing it.

If you lose that much weight that quickly, you will gain it all back right away. It is not healthy to lose more than about 2 pounds a week. Usually, any new diet that you start will take off a few pounds the first week, but unless you starve yourself, take laxatives, throw up, or do some other completely unwise thing, you are not going to lose two pounds a day.
The best thing to do if you want to look better quickly is eat sensibly, and get a lot of exercise. Do lots of cardio, and lift some weights. You won't lose 20 pounds, but you'll look leaner. The number on the scale isn't important because the people you want to impress are not in your bathroom with you when you are weighing yourself. The way you look and feel is important. Lift some weights, do crunches for your abdominal muscles to make your stomach tighter so you look thinner, and get as much cardio exercise as you can without overheating or having a heart attack - it's hot out there.
Good luck.

I'm not trying to give you a crap answer, but that's really not healthy. The recommended weight loss is 2 pound per week at maximum.
Okay, that said, try drinking a lot of water, eating small things every three hours (so that your metabolism is working its hardest all day long), don't eat after 8 pm.
Make sure you're burning calories, too, by doing cardio. This can include running/walking up and down stairs, running, jogging, taking long walks, playing a sport, or visiting the gym.
Good luck meeting your goal. Also, please know that if you suddenly start doing this much, unless you keep going at this frantic pace, you will gain the weight back.
Do with this what you will.

I know that this is not going to be very popular with most people since it really isn't healthy, but it does work. Do not eat anything at all. Drink water to stay somewhat hydrated, but then take a water pill to lose the excess weight. I would then say adding in a laxative around the 3rd or 4th day. You will purge yourself of almost everything, but you will also not be too fun to be around. I have personally stopped eating for 14 days and I can assure you that once you start eating again, you will balloon up so fast. A carrot has the calories of a brownie at that point. (not scientifically true, but your body starts changing and calculating calories differently when you deprive yourself of food and suddenly start eating again). My best advice is to be careful and make sure that it is really necessary to lose it that fast. If you really have no other option, then do what I suggested and you will lose the weight VERY fast.

* How to Lose Weight in Less Than 7 Days *
Losing weight is tricky. For most people it takes time. However, this short bit of writing will tell you how to lose a small amount of weight in an easy and healthy way in less than 7 days.
Steps
Get a set of small hand weights, either 3, 5 or 8 lbs.
Do five to ten minutes of weight-lifting for a half an hour after each meal. Lie on your back and slowly lift yourself up with weights in each hand. Do this daily for the full seven days.
Before or after you take a bath or a shower each day, do five minutes of jogging in place, your weights in hand.
Do not eat greasy foods. Drink only water and fruit juice. Eat a portion of vegetables at every meal.
In the morning try to eat fruit. Do NOT dump heaps of sugar on your cereal.
Follow this regimen for seven days and you will see results.
Take time to cook, Make food look appealing, don't be afraid to try new things. If you're not sure how to prepare or eat things you can go on an online search engine (such as google) and look how recipes and how to eat things. You may even find some articles here
Make one rule everyweek. Stick with it, like for an example. No eating after 8:00. So you can burn fat when you sleep instead of store fat. Do that until you can do it no problem. This may even take more than a week, even a month but go for that one thing until it is a normal no fuss dailiy routine. Then make another one
Tips
Eat plenty of vegetables with each meal.
Drink plenty of water
Before buying any food, look for carbs and sugar in the ingredients. You'll want to cut down on both.
Avoid eating a lot before bedtime.

well, I know it is possible to lose 5-7lbs in a week with the south beach or Atkins diet, in 10 days you could be pressed to lose 10 lbs but as far as 20 lbs you would have to practically starve yourself and worse.... I lost 15 lbs in 17 days using Atkins, eating NO carbs and walking/running... I felt "slow" but I fit into the dress. I wouldn't recommend it for a long period of time.
