If I were you, I wouldn't go with chinese symbols for tattoos.
Even though they may mean something, that is usually only a 'loose' translation.
Let's use "strength" for example. The symbol for that word, whatever it is, may translate very loosely into english as Strength. But it may, if translated precisely, mean "Very Large Muscles" or "With Great Testosterone".
Be very aware of the exact meaning of chinese symbols when getting tattooed. There are too many horror stories about people getting them and then finding out they mean something they didn't expect.
