I wasn't a big fan of the regular series, but the original, HBO special of the Pee Wee Herman show was amazing.
The Groundlings, out in LA were involved, with Phil Hartmann as Captain Carl and many others.
Then it all just got spooky.

Sorry...not after finding the playhouse that the actor Paul Reubens who played "Pee Wee" really liked to play in was at an adult theater with himself (for which he was arrested).

Kids like it because it is silly...kids love silly. Adults grow out of the "silly" phase, for the most part, which is why you cannot understand how you could have like the show. I know I used to love the show when I was a kid too.

Not embarrassed, just confused. Like "I can't believe I actually watched it" My 5 year old likes it though. Especially the secret word.

I only liked the "word of the day" part...or whatever it was called. When anyone said that word, all kinds of bells & whistles & noises went off. And yeah, thinking back, it was kinda stupid...lol...
