As much as I dislike the man and I find it incomprehensible that such an obvious cretin could be elected, let alone elected twice, it has to be said that the problems of the Middle East can not be lain at his door. Israel has been in conflict with other Middle Eastern countries for decades, since the state was formed. In Iraq, if there wasn't the current war there would be civil war because there are two factions within Iraq and although they are of the same race and follow Islam, they are of different denominations of Islam and detest each other. Pakistan has been on the verge of nuclear war with India for decades.
The Middle East, in living memory, has always been unstable and to blame one man, no matter how much of an imbecile or how evil, is impossible.

Yes!! I have read a report recently that the cia deliberately sparked off the civil war in Iraq. Why?Because when Bush realised the invasion was not being welcomed with open arms by a large section of the Iraqi people, his biggest fear was that the Shia & Sunnis' would unite in opposition to the coalition. When the ordinary Iraqis' saw that their water/electricity/medical services were worse than under Saddam, their loyalties started to shift to-wards the Resistance.I have to say, there is no proof of this, but, you never know,do you?

There was nothing but peace, love and harmony in the Middle East and all the rest of the world for all of human history until January 2001. Bush caused Ghengis Khan and Attila the Hun to attack Europe and he caused the Bubonic Plague in the middle ages and he caused WW1 and WW2.
For the clueless, there hasn't been Peace in the Middle East in all of human history. Yet, you blame Bush for the lack of peace. Do you realize how freaking moronic that makes you sound?

Bush is an epidemic... and he's fouled the environment. No doubt terrorism is bad, but what he has achieved is to turn the whole civilized world into a terorrist. Now it is very hard to make a distinction between the two. Actually if count deaths. US has caused many times more than any terrorist even dream of. Even Israels occupation of Palestine has been far less bloody than Bush in Iraq.

While I do believe GW has had a hand in destabilizing the Middle East its best to remember the Middle East has not been a stabilized place in a very very long time. I think we have to put the blame on the leadership and people who live there.

From the veto at the UN the USA which started the Hezbollah reaction to the veto. If the USA did not veto the call to end the war in Gaza Hezbollah would not take Israelis POWs.The veto was uncalled for for the world to see where the USA for the 1st time veto a UN resolution to end a war

George Bush is the leader of the United States. obvious point perhaps, but it means that he represents the interests of his electorate and allies. If Bush is a threat to peace in the middle east then so are the rest of us, personally I would like to see the leaders of the world have live discussions on international TV, stating clearly why they are making the decisions they are making.I would like to see Bush ring up Kim Jong Il and ask him what exactly he is playing at and for the rest of us to witness the answers. In your example Bush could ring the Hezbollah leaders and ask them why they won't return the kidnapped soldiers, then he could ring the Israelis and ask them why bombing everyone out of Lebanon is their masterplan. If we could all witness for ourselves exactly what leaders of these states(not just our own) are like we could better assess the situations that face us all.It is scary that of all the leaders in the world we possibly have the best of a very, very bad bunch;so the answer to your question is no.
