My envelope at the bottom right hand side of the screen and the Yahoo! communicator tell me that I have three new messages. However, I have not received any emails, - that I can find! Spam and trash are also empty.
What can I do to either find these three messages in Yahoo mail - or how do I remove the 'you have 3 messages' bit?

It does not change from 3 messages even when I have loads because people have replied - I have just noticed this!

It now says I have no emails - any idea why (by the way, I do not know if it is correct as I have not received one!)

Only three... I have seven apparently!
I don't think they really exist, I think its just a problem with Yahoo!

Could be a ghost saw a film that was based on real life were dead ppls voices can be heard through electronic static, could be from a dead guy who never got to send his final email and now forever will be trying too……………
Could be old emails you haven’t opened- some times they come up as new, but I found communicator tells you this if you don’t delete old IMs and invites to IM or to be added to some ones address book

The problem is simple. You have more than one mail client installed in your system and you dont check the emails you receive in any of them or in only one of them. The suspect mail clients that could do that is 1. Outlook Express and 2. Microsoft Outlook. Other programs could interfere such as eudora etc. however according to my experience this is unlickelly.
The way to solve the problem is to open every single email client you have installed in your computer (i.e. outlook or Opera Mail) and read or mark as read the received emails.
This should solve the problem.

It was briefly sorted out yesterday afternoon but now it's back to saying I have 6 new messages :(
Oh well I guess it will be sorted out soon

someone else asked this question a few hours ago and it seems loads are having the same prob. yahoo glitch. i reported it so i guess it'll get sorted eventually.

mine keeps saying i have 1 new email and i dont :( when i have like 3 new emails it still says only 1. its quite annoying!

It may be 3 old messages you have that you have not read
