well it usually lasts for four days and this period was kind of spotty, like breakthrough bleeding, if that makes since.

Yeah that is ok. Are you on the pill? Sometimes you won't even really have a period when you are taking birth control.

If that is normal for you, or if you just recently started having periods, then you're probably fine. However, it may not even be a period at all, but spotting instead. This can happen instead of your period if you're pregnant. If you have been sexually active, I suggest you take a pregnancy test. If you haven't been sexually active, you're probably fine, but you may want to see a doctor.

Consider yourself lucky, some women's last for 7 days.
If your worried ask you Dr. or go to your local health department & have a pelvic examn.
