Become friends with her outside of school. Lots of kids these days go on what is called a "group date" - where kissing, getting romantic, etc. isn't expected or really appreciated. They sure do remove a ton of stress from everyone including parents.

Be pleasant to her in class, the halls, etc....strike up a few conversations with her.

Talk to your friends about having a Friday night rollerskating, going to Celebration Station, the movies, or whatever it is your group of friends would like to do. Then ask this girl if she would like to go out with the group. Usually - each kid pays their own way into activities.

I am quite sure you will be just fine. That 1st time asking is the hardest of all. And if she says "no" - guess what, you still are going to have a great time out with friends, and she will hear you talking in school about the great time you all had - and just perhaps she will say "yes" the next time you ask.

Leave the dinner/movie date alone for now - they are not only very expensive and stressful - but hard to talk parents into as well.

Good luck!

Well you could do what I did. I got her a small gift and gave it to her. She laughed in my face and that let me know how she felt. That was over 30 years ago. I'm still a live. I have made a fool of myself a lot and it was worth it. I now have a wonderful family and it all started with the rejection of a girl. Good Luck

you remind me of myself...

if you WAIT for the perfect moment, somebody else might get ahead of you.
but don't dispare! make HER like YOU - you figure it how... for example: learn some good jokes, practice first (to other friends), and then tell them to her. be sweet; and it's not the end of the world if you make one or two small 'goof-ups'!
good luck

I wouldn't start out telling her you love her...just talk to her and get to know her first....maybe you could ask her to help you with an assignment..or you could help her....that way you could talk to her in a relaxed way....eventually you tell her you love her...but of course it is better to show her...by being kind and considerate to her.
