Laughing invoves a lot of motion and contraction and expansion of the lungs. Several factors could be at play, although I suspect a bruised rib. Have you bumped into something recently that you may have forgotten about, like a table or a chair?

Without knowing whether you've suffered some type of trauma or not, my educated guess would be a simple muscle strain.
However, you have not specified the location of the pain, if it radiates, etc. Consult your doctor. You will be asked a series of pertinent questions ( onset, provocation, quality of pain, radiation, symptoms, time) that will enable him/her to start a diagnosis.
If it's nothing, then good. But pain is generally an indication that something is wrong.

Nothing. That is something that happens when a muscle in the side is worked out (which can happen when you laugh).

Maybe you've laughed too much! Or maybe you've pulled a muscle - nothing to get worried about!

Probably a slight muscle straining with the laughter...no big deal.
