you know you have this one - and this one _ but how do people do the one on top?

yeah um you do relize that the typing the number to get symbols goes up to past 3000? ♥

It's a symbol called a "macron" I think.
You can find it by looking up the SYMBOLS in MS Word.

Unless they've pasted text in from a word-processor and Yahoo retains the superscript feature, it's probably generated by an alternate character set, sometimes known as extended ASCII. Click on a question like you want to answer it, and in the answer box, hold down the left ALT key while you type the number 12 on the numeric keypad at the far right of your keyboard. If you get the female symbol (circle with a cross below it) then you know you can generate these characters. You'll just have to experiment which number generates the "upper line" you want. NOTE: You MUST use the numeric keypad, using the numbers above the top letter row won't work.
