try highlighting everything and 'marking as read'

worked for me.... eventually

also try logging out and then back in after

Something's been wrong with Yahoo Mail notifications. Mine has been stuck at one message for a few days now, regardless of how many new emails I get, and how many I have opened, even after I open them all. Whatever.... Don't fret for that much. We're not being bombed at.

hi,
It happens due to our mistake. it is program after all how can he misbehave. yahoo has tested it before release.
the simple mistake we make once you open mail and use back button of browser it creates session problem and it will store that message as unread. use yahoo's next and previous button it will not happen.
sometimes you are reading a mail and click on folder button or other like this is also unread.its all about session data. banking site like icici will close your session when you refresh and use back and forward button. understand

Same here.. somethig wrong with their mail notifying system. Hope YAHOO also has noticed and taking corrective action soon.
