yeah of course they can see the doors and windows, but they also know there is no nice food out there , but if they hang around long enough in your house, they will get some tasty morsals.
Anyway, why are you letting a fly get distressed , banging its head on your windows. KILL IT , the filth.

Try this - flies go wherever there is light. So, make your room darker and open a door or a window to a brighter room. This will do the trick.

Maybe its limited intelligence or panic induced by repeated bangs on the head. Or perhaps they can't see the whole window or door. I doubt they can see what we see. Then again, maybe its fly culture, or they are so awed and amazed by the miraculous invisible forcefield that is glass that they don't get tired of bouncing on it.

I notice this. i got a fly now in my room and i open all the windows so wide it fly to it then fly back in house,. if it does not go in a mo im zapping it with some spray.

they think that they can get free when they get near an opening cause they only have a few second memory and all they see is the sunlight comming out so they head for it
