Lets pick a talent... say.. singing. Okay, so there are tonnes of people out there who think they can sing.. I mean honestly think they can sing.. and they suck.. they're horrible.. and listening to it makes me want to kill myself.. this leads me to this conclusion..

People wouldn't really sing and think they're good at it if they KNEW they sucked right? So, does this mean that when I sing and think I'm good that I really suck? Am I stuck in the same boat as these other people?

I can't sing a note, this is just hypothetical .. replace singing with any talent that you can think of if you want.

What makes you good is you, a talent or lack there of is only a part of a being, therefore it is not by or talents that we are good or not,but rather by the nature of our heart and soul

I'm sure the first time you sang a song in preschool you weren't very good and were in the same boat as the other kids.

Not every singer sucks but they all think they're good. So how do you know if you are in your own boat?

If you care enough about what you do to take singing lessons and learn the business end of it you are way ahead of the karaoke singers. The quest for knowledge separates the ones who suck from the good ones.

You have to have a passion for what you do if you want to be the best. If you want to sing for the money you might be OK but you'll never really be a great singer.

The same applies to most every talent. acting, singing or some other art form, Without a love for the art your just a fan singing karaoke. Probably off key.

It doesn't matter if you actually sink and can't sing so long as you convince yourself of being talented. Look out there so much crap being awarded at the Grammy's.

The reason being is ..that we sound different to ourselves than to others... this is why the singers have the headphones on their ears....so they can hear their true voice ...This is what you and your friends need to do in order to hear y'all are bad ..and adjust accordingly...Good luck
