Narrative writing is virtually any story/novel. It is told or narrated. Choose any fairy tale. Think about telling someone about your day. This is a personal narrative because you, personally, narrate/tell the story.

Persuasive writing wants you to do something, change something, or join something. Advertisements in magazines are persuasive; they want you to buy their products. Political speeches are persuasive; they want you to join their party or believe their side of the propaganda.

Hope some of this helps.

Most books are narrative (such as The Hobbit, The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, etc. etc.).
Persuasive writings are generally a lot shorter and try to convice someone of something. Look up Jonathan Swift's 'A Modest Proposal' for something satirical and persuasive.
Narrative goes a bit like this: "And so and so did something"
While persuasive is more like: "We should do this because of this and this and that."

Good luck!
