I for one do not really want India, my country to become a super power, in the sense that it is perceived as a international police man, bullying some nations. It must have enough wealth for its people to eat their daily meals, does no harm to other nations; and every body is able to move about freely without fear for their lives.

It will become A super power in the world, but obviously not the superpower. It was a rising economy, a large population, strong relations with the rest of the world, many English speaking people (handy for business with many western countries), and the United States loves that it is a democracy. I cant see any reason why it wont, and any reason why it shouldn't, become a world power.

I think the concept of Super Power of the world is going by the wayside for the time being. As other nations close the gap with the United States, I don't think there will be any Super Powers for a while.
