Because unlike most romance movies, it's got a fantastic plot, and you can easily attatch to the characters. It's actually really great acting, and it's not at all cheesy.

I have no idea. It seems more realistic though. Instead of them just trying to make some kind of cheesy romance. The acting was awesome and the whole plot was wonderful. I love this movie. Proves that love is a stronger power than anything!

Honestly, it was because both sets of protagonists--Noah and Allie--(the old and young couple) played the roles so well.
I mean, the young ones--Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling--had so much on screen chemistry playing the passionate lovers. From the fateful meeting to the things that they faced together, they really showed the audience the story that Nicholas Sparks wrote.
Even in their old age, you can still see the chemistry they share. It might have changed since their younger days but it really shows how much Noah loves Allie...That for me was what made it so amazingly beautiful

the chemistry between the actors is hot! Obviously they thought so too, since they're actually dating now. The story is very touching. The love between them is so spectacular yet so ordinary at the same time. And it's really hard to make a romantic movie without making it cheesy...and they did a pretty good job pulling that off I think. It just seemed natural.
