Some people say it destroys the sanctity of marriage, but hasn't divorce and adultery already done that?

Others state it is a sin, but the Bible has only four implied admonishments against homosexuality and over 350 admonishments against heterosexuality. If marriage is a sin, then in theory the gay couple just has to find "God" and ask for forgiveness for their sins to get into heaven.

Then there is the argument that gays should have the rights of a married couple, but does not violate equal rights and the separation of church and state?

I would like to know as many arguments against gay marriage as possible.

the problem is in using the word marriage .... it needs to be simply called something else..... I believe commited adults should have legal rights to insurance, medical decisions, filing joint taxes etc as any other married couple ....what needs to happen is simply call it a legal union or some other vanilla term and keep the far right religious nuts out of it ...simple I think

Gay marriage is not right. Look I don't mean to be offensive but marriage was intended by God to be between a man and a woman. Just like if someone kills a person they are not going to go unpunished by law or by the people, why? because it's not right, nothing can ever change that, it's a fact. So the same goes for gay marriage it will never be accepted.

Yes you are right people cheat and they get divorced but marriage in the eyes of God was meant to be sacred.

With divorce the Bible says if a person burns with passion then let them marry and if they get divorced they should remain single unless one partner cheats then only the FAITHFUL partner is free to marry again. So to answer your question NO, divorce and cheating has not destroyed the sacredness of marriage.

This is were I support George W Bush that gays should not marry.

You need a man and a woman to reproduce offspring. Unless we become like other species and can impregnate ourselves we are looking at the destruction of man kind. By allowing gay marriage it is the beginning of the eradication of the human race. I don't care how you get off but if you were supposed to be with someone of the same sex you would be able to reproduce with the same sex.
