The process will probably be similar to the one you had in China.

Go to the embassy and get a work visa. You'll probably need a job first.

I am an English teacher in Japan. We needed a job first in order to get a working visa from the Japanese Embassy. The whole process took 1-2 months to process.

Good luck to you.

It's pretty easy to get a job in Vietnam as an English teacher. I know of a few budget travelers who regularly pick up English teaching jobs while traveling through Vietnam and Cambodia to make ends meet while experiencing the countries in a rather unique way.

There are few services that can hook you up with open positions right away. One of my cousins hooked up with a teaching job in Vietnam through one of the services, and got paid $1000/month. That might not seem much, but that's more than three times the pay than a decent job for a native in Vietnam.

Try googling or Yahooing for such services..

Good luck and have fun!

Vietnam is wonderful.
Saigon, around District 1 is fantastic. Anything you want is there.
All the big cities are nice places.
If you want to be a little cooler go to mountain towns like Dalat.
The people and culture are wonderful.
Good Luck.
