The company that I work for is conducting a contest and we have to guess how may hot tamale candies are in a jar. The Jar is square but round in the on the edges. The jar is not filled to the top. There is about an inch to a inch and half available. the top of the jar is rounded.

Get a box of hot tamales and weigh each one of them. Find their average weight.

Then, find something you think weighs similar to the jar.

Then, subtract the jars weight from 5 lb.

Then, just divide the average tamale weight by your difference above and that will give you a mathematical approximation of total number of tamales in that jar.
