Does anyone else think that its racist that alton towers theme park are having a muslims only day sometime in september, if you are not a muslim you will not be allowed in?,, all food served on that day will be halal and there will be no smoking, drinking or gambling allowed! i find this racist to be honest, are they going to have a christians only day? where they are similary excluded from entry??? No They Wont Because they would all cry rasism!!
Can You Imagine if alton towers was in pakistan or werever! do you think that they would host a special day for non muslims?? i think not?!?!?!
Why should we have to give them there own special day, they are allowed in at any time with the rest of us, halal food is served in some resteraunts, and as for smoking, drinking and gambling! well thats our way of life, they chose to come her, and they should accept our way of life rather than forcing us in to there way!!! it all stinks to me

in responce to SUN M, no i do not hate muslims, am just sick of being treated like a 2nd class citizen because everyone is running through hoops to please them, so we dont get called racist, rasism is a 2 way thing! and its not the fact its a muslim only day which p*sses me off its the fact that its an anything only day! we are being discriminated against because of our religion, if alton towers said you wernt allowed in because of your race you wouldnt be happy would you??

In response to Maxx8uk, you are incorrect, the whole venue hasn't been privately booked by the Muslim group as a couple had booked to use the park for their wedding reception that particular day and have been told they must conform to the muslim rules segrating men and woman, have no alcohol or gambling and only eat halal food.
I personally think this is ridiculous. I think AT should now hold a christen day, catholic day etc etc
Unfortunately, everyone seems to think that racism only occurs if the group is in the minority but this is racism against the majority.
If muslims choose to live in a non-muslim country, it can not be expected that everyone follow their way of living as would happen in the reverse in a muslim country, you wouldn't expect to see women walking around in a bikini eating a hotdog and drinking a beer!

The day that Alton Towers Theme Park is having it's Muslim Day, a Chistian couple have booked to have their wedding in the Park. They have been told that if their guests want to go on the rides the women must be fulled covered - no bear arms, legs or heads - and the men and women are to go on the rides seperately. ALL the food they are to have must be halal, and NO alcohol is allowed. They booked the park a long time in advance, BEFORE the Muslim Day was arranged.

If this Muslim only period is between Sept 17 and 30th, and if it's a private hire, there's absolutely nothing wrong with it. It's not Alton Towers who've decided to discriminate against you the majority - it's a group of people who've decided to hire out the whole place for those 2 days.
It's a private hire. Big deal! You get that at restaurants, halls, etc. and no one ever complains. Alton Towers is a business and they've obviously thought that it's reasonable from their business point of view to do this. Nothing to do with race, creed or religion.
You on the other hand sound sore, gripey and immature.

its an idiotic marketing scam i hope that no muslims turn up to it that'll hurt em, but i will say this the reason why they are doing it is that because of the perceivance that lots of un muslim things go on in there muslims perhaps don't attend in as large a numbers as other groups of people, but really the way to deal with it is to have halal stores in there and make the park non smoking which is a good idea cos theres kids there anyway and just market it so it looks a lot more inclusive and encouraging to all groups istead of doing this which is the opposite really and i hope that people picket the event.

No it is not racist. The whole site has been privatley hired by a muslim group is all. Any group can hire it regardless af religion or race. In November Naturalists have booked out splash landings !

I believe that AT also double booked for a wedding that day. The couple were told that married couples would be allowed to go on rides together but that otherwise male and female would have to go on separately. There were other conditions too, I think the couple decided to reorganise!

Pakistan and India are half and half Catholic countries!
They shouldn't have any religon days there it is a theme park not a sinagog or a church,You are right. We have gone so far passed the point of racistism that we are racist to are own church now!

Yeah that isnt fair at all... why should they have special things.. arent the rest of us special enough to have a day out like that too.
If they do that they should have days for all other faiths too. I dont wana be left out.

I totally agree with you but money talks now doesn't it! Why not ring up and ask if you could hire it for an adults only day where we could all go and shag for the day and get pissed and eat all sorts of food and see what they say!!
I'll take two tickets from you when you get them!!
