I would have to say the origin of Suicide Bombers started with the Kamekazi pilots of WWII.

Despiration. When you don't have enough resources for a frontal attack you resort to tactics like this.
Suicide attacks are just a progression from normal warfighting tactics. The Japanese Kamakazi bombers just realised that they were going to die during their attacks anyway so they made sure that they hit their targets.
Suicide bombings in the middle east are a product of easily suggestable people being groomed by authority figures into dying for their religion, there is a certain respect extended to these people within some portions of the community as well.

Suicide bomber was adopted by terrorists because it is more effective in hitting the targets and has more impact upon the populace due to the voluntariness of the bomber. Unaccompanied bombs sometimes are detected before it explodes or oftentimes, do not hit the targets.

If you mean suicide bombers, you'd have to say
the Japanese Kamikaze in WWII have the X on wide scale self slaughter via explosives department. However, there may have been isolated incidents here and there. The term assassin comes from the Muslim world.

Not 100% sure, but wasn't it the Kamikaze pilots of Japan? - long before the current understanding of the term.
I think they were World War I / II era, but not sure what they did, or how they achieved this name. Maybe 'kamikaze' is a japanese word for suicide?

A suicide bombers is a one who have seen his family killed by an F16 or by a tank and he could not do anything to save them.

Necessity........they have no other way of causing mass killings besides sticks and stones, Israel is the worlds 3rd largest manufacturer of weapons and it is the only way Hezbollah can attack them as they have no fighter planes or decent rockets....

i believe the first suicide - not exactly - bomber was Samson- who decided to bring down the philistine temple on himself as well as on the philistines who held him captive.
