my computer becomes unstable in the hot weather and deletes anything i click on. i have a chassis fan to fit inside but where do i fit it. there is only 6 square inches of small holes in the back of the case for it to breathe (packard bell imedia). does the fan just blow air around inside the case, suck cooler air in or draw warm air out

What goes in, must come out...

It is air FLOW that cools, doesn't matter the direction!

It can never be TOO cool!

Just don't put the fans in, and then lock it in a tight cabinet so the heat STILL builds up!

Typically cases have these small holes (usually in a circle) where you can fit the fan. There should also be some sort of inlet in the case so air from outside can be sucked in and hot air expelled through these small holes.

Certain cases (and I know Packard Bell have produced some but unsure about the iMedia) have limited scope for ungrading so you may find yourself out of luck.

the idea is to get good air flow in a case ,so it keeps the case (components) cool, you say you have a chassis fan ,im presuming you have a fan in the back,so it would b a good idea to put 1 in the front of your pc case.when installing the fan dont forget to look on the fan it will have a small arrow showing which way the air will flow in, the fan should have either a white (molex) power connection or a small white block,if its the block fit it in the front & look for a connection on the motherboard called sys fan to connect it to. while you are in there it might be a good idea to get some compressed air & give it a bit of a clean with the air as this can cause a lot of problems in this hot weather.

The fan should blow air out of your case. I have a front fan which blows air in and a back fan which blows it out. My case came with fan mounts, yours should have 4 holes in which you screw the fan. Also check what fan suits your PC case (80mm or 120mm). Deleting objects when you click on them means that you may have a virus of some sort....high temperatures will only cause your system to crash.

The fan usually blows cool air on the processor to keep it cool. If not sure contact your local computer dealer.
